What can it do?

I checked this place out years ago and went away for awhile. Is there somewhere I can go to see how much further the project has come? In general, how complete is the emulator? Are there game functions that it does not yet emulate? Or does it get pretty close to emulating all game functions?

It depends on what era of EQ.

If you are talking up to LDoN, pretty damn close. If you are talking UF, no definitely not.

So, with the bot feature added, it sounds like I can log in and roam the worlds up through LDoN playing mostly like I would online? That is great.

What are some of the major features left to be done? I am sorry if this information is available somewhere, but I have not seen it.

Meh, not a ton to speak of. Actually I would say we are doing well on OOW content, GoD is mostly done other than the higher level zones.

Off the top of my head things that do not work.

Expeditions
Newer stuff like housing
Monster Missions

You know, stuff you can get by without :)

You can check out all of the changes since you were last here by reading the changelog:

http://code.google.com/p/projecteqem.../changelog.txt

There has been a TON of stuff added over the past few years that wasn't working (or wasn't working correctly) a few years ago. Way too much stuff to list out here.

As mentioned, most things do work very well. There are some newer systems that have not been implemented in EQEmu yet, but most of them are from the more recent expansions.

If you played EQEmu years ago, I would suggest trying it again and I think you will be pleasantly surprised how nicely things work.

Does PEQ DB have a changelog as well?

Thank you,

Phil

No it does not. In General, the PEQ DB is edited with the PEQ Editor like many use for their own servers. Only a very few (like really 3) have direct read/write SQL access. I think the PEQ Editor could have a log, but that would be exceedingly hard to read as things get changed very often.

It's pretty excellent now. Job well done guys.
