Character Encode problem
 

Hi , I'm try to change the zone long_name in table zone from "The Baraar" to Chinese like "集市". but when I log in the server, it shows two "??" in screem.

Make sure your version of MySQL has Chinese language support.

Another thing to check is to see if your version of Visual Studio or gcc has multi-language support.

In addition, you can change eqstr_us.txt and that will accept Chinese characters, that contains long names that are not sent by the server (In example, on zoning.)

Does the client support Chinese?

yes.mysql and client are both support Chinese
