Worldserver error

Whenever i run Boot5zones.Win9x i get lots of other windows pop up and they eventually say

using database 'eq' at localhost
loading items & NPCs...done
spells loaded from 'spdat.eff'
loading guild ranks...done
worldserver connect: connecting to the server failed. Error 10061
Initworldserver failed
entering sleep mode

then it reconnects a couple of times and fails before i close it.
How do i fix it?

lemmie guess.. you didnt change the 127.0.0.1's in the batfile to your real IP?

shifty monstar 02-10-2002 05:06 AM

but what is my real ip?

Shawn319 02-10-2002 05:09 AM

Well if your running Win9x or WinME goto start->run-> winipcfg

or go on IRC and type /dns yourname

(doesnt work in trifocus cause its masked so go on a diff server)

Is your world.exe running?

Pay attention to Baron Sprite's question. The repeating messages is usually caused because the connection to your server is lost. If the zone servers are doing that then you world server is not running or they can't find the world server.

thats done it. Thanx

shifty monstar 02-12-2002 05:03 AM

that works but now I gets

Unable to get host name. Error: 1101Initworldserver failed

Trumpcard 02-12-2002 06:10 AM

what are you using for your ip? Are you setting it too localhost, or using your real ip?

Unable to get hostname indicates a dns lookup is failing, I would guess this could happen if you are using localhost instead of 127.0.0.1, or are hardcoding your dns name (someip.somewhere.com).

You can also put localhost in your windows/smhost or hosts file. (Cant remember the exact file, not at my windows box right now)

it works now and i haven't touched anything. from here it looks random

madborg 02-13-2002 07:41 AM

I would rather see a naked ogre female than to have problems mysteriously fixed.

Now is a good time for you to document you settings so if that random bad boy comes back and you start mucking with your settings, you can always go back to this version, which you know works.

then i will. by the way. Is the main login server down? Coz i have been tryin to log on for 3 days straight and not once i have got past: EQemu error: Bad username/password.
