Login failure
After launching eqemulator, entering station name and password a message states "Logging into the server. Please wait..." and remains there.

Did you change the eqhost.txt file?
|
this is what was already in the eqhost.txt file:
[LoginServer] Host=login.eqemulator.net:5998 which is different than what is in the forums as [LoginServer] Host=eqemulator.net:5998 changed to match the forum info, but it's patched back and still stalled at the connection window. |
patched back?
if you are using the eqemu launcher I cant and wont help you. |
I would recommend not using the launcher, no hate on it, but not a lot of people like it nor will a lot of people help you with issues related to it. You can also set up a shortcut on your desktop and use that, it's just as fast, I don't see the necessity of the launcher, however some may like it.

You need to have the correct account name/password in the database LOGIN table tblloginserveraccounts. You get this infofrom the account you setup here on this site. I had the same problem

Just to bump this
I'm still having problems getting from where I put my login server account info in to the character selection screen. "Logging into the server..." is as far as I get. This happens for every server. I have multiple login server accounts and this is happening to all of them. What am I doing wrong?

It may be reliable now that you are hosting it and with the new version, but it will still take time for people that gave up on it to perhaps give it another chance. For what it's worth, I never had an issue with the older version, but I stopped using it before the reliability issues started happening since I just don't play on a bunch of different servers so using it to patch the files wasn't a big savings for me. I preferred to just keep separate client folders for the few I played on and keep them up to date manually. I use WinEQ to actually launch the clients for the hotkey functionality so the launching part of the launcher wasn't ever useful to me. |
Interestingly enough, this issue still persists when the incorrect login info is inputted. So it's impossible to tell whether I'm using the right loginserver account info or not.
Does anyone have a solution for this? I cant be the first person to have this problem... |
That sounds like a port blocking issue, which should be explained on the FAQ linked in my sig.

That helped it! I'm on! Thank you!
