Is anyone able to use Titanium/Underfoot and Windows 8?
I have tried both fresh installs of Titanium and Underfoot and I cannot load the character select screen on my local LAN server. I have done many of the fixes including matching the resolution of the machine and EQ client, but I just cannot get to the character select screen.
I am thinking it is related to not having DirectX9c on Windows 8. Even when i downloaded the binaries from MS it will not install because it isn't supported in windows 8. Anyone using Windows 8 able to use a fresh install of either of those clients on a public or private server? Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated. |

What do you see in that file? Please look over it and check where it is failing at. |
I will have to check when I get home tonight. I will be sure to update this thread with the results.

I can run Titanium and UF Clients on Windows 8 without any problems. I use them for public servers and my private/lan server.
Have you tried installing and running wineq2 from LavishSoft? It will ask you download some directx stuff if it is not detected. I have always used it, so maybe it downloaded the correct versions or whatnot. |
Here is the contents of my dbt.txt file

I Fixed my problem
Once I got home and posted the dbt.txt file I noticed this line.
Code:
Sun Jun 30 22:35:31 2013]00019:Server selected 127.0.0.1 (15). The fix for me was as follows 1. Edit login.ini and change all references from '127.0.0.1' to '192.168.1.200'(server ip address). This did not work because MYSQL wouldn't let anything other than 127.0.0.1 access the DB server. 2. I stopped MYSQL using net stop Mysql, but when I started it I told it to stop checking for users in the grant access tables. My start command for Mysql was Net start mysql --skip-grant-tables 3. I fired up my client and boom I was able to login and play. |
