Took a break for a year, came back, and none of my login server passwords work?

The passwords for all my EQ emulator accounts are the same and working and no one else ever had these passwords. However, I had around 9 login server accounts and all 9 of them are currently getting an "invalid password" error. I wrote down what the passwords were before I quit so there's no chance I forgot them or anything similar. These accounts were spread across 3-4 EQ Emu accounts, which all had different passwords. The likelyhood that 3-4 EQ Emu accounts got hacked seems low, and even then they wouldn't have my login server passwords to change them.

Has this happened to anyone else before?

Is it possible for someone to change the login server password without the EQEmu account password?

Is the "invalid password" possibly a message used if the accounts got banned while I was gone?

Thanks.

make sure your eqhost.exe is set to the proper thing?

For SoD+
Code:

Host=eqemulator.net:5999
for Titanium
Code:

Host=eqemulator.net:5998
its located in your Everquest directory.

I appreciate the reply. It is set correctly, and other login server accounts that I just made work just fine.

Any other thoughts on this? Hard to find feedback from anyone how this could have happened.

You could possibly have lost your loginserver passwords? Even if you believe you have not, you may have, there has never been an account wipe that I know of, so that would be the only logical reasoning for your passwords being wrong, or not working. Also, loginserver accounts don't get banned for no reason, and if they were banned you'd have to ask an Administrator as to why they were banned.

did you try making a new LS so that you could at least tell if it's not some sort of file setting/client side issue?

I'd consider this first...

Right now, there's no way to change LS passwords period. So I don't think it matters if you got hacked - you could still log in. unless they also hacked your forum account I guess... there is a thread about LS passwords here which you might find relevant

Were you ever able to solve this? I have a similar issue from a 2010 account. I have the info but it does not work. I made a new account and I can login without any trouble. Baffled.

then after going thru all my old notebooks, goin thru page by page... i found random eq names.. Then finally figured out my account info..

i log in and it goes right thru.... was on the server np...

idk why or how it worked, but doing it from scratch didnt work. twice over.

This probably isn't very helpful, but I just came back from a three+ year break (mid 2010) and my login worked fine. =/
