On EqEmu pets
I remember on live there always being a discussion on whether or not armor like plate armor would effect the AC of pets. Of course weapons definitely were effective, at least the procs. Armor that gave HP definitely did give the pet more hitpoints.
My question is does normal armor handed to a pet actually change the pet AC on EqEmu? Doing an npc info from a GM does not show AC so it is hard to tell. |
I just looked through some of the code, and from what I saw, it does not. However, I didn't exhaust the entire code so I could be wrong.
|
Well that you very much for looking into it. I kind of thought that.

I would think that it should, if it doesn't, which would surprise me. On live, being a mage, I had done a lot of research around the PoP era. Pets would equip armor based on AC (highest was equipped). The beginning mage summoned armor included no hp, only AC, which was given to pets.
I'd have to look for reference links on it to verify, and I don't see why EQEmu wouldn't include it. I'm not at home to check into the coding, but if no one gets to it before me, I will verify that as well. |
Bad_Captain, is there any other command to check an NPC's stats? I am not seeing any other ones.
|
I use #showstats. That shows AC.
|
I can confirm that if you hand a pet an item, it will calculate in the AC.
|
Okay, I was using #npcstats, I will try the other.

38 water pet ac
AC 282 38 water pet ac with phantom armor AC 358 That is one major difference, very pleasing. |
I did a little more testing, I spent the night getting my focus items for my Magician on the [HC] server. These figures are for the level 38 air pet.
Code:
Standard level 38 air pet |
That's good to hear. Yes, I use #showstats as well.
Sorry, I had 3 sick ones in the house and didn't get back to to this until now. |
