SOE quest creation

I remember an interview with one of the devs a while back, and I sure wish I could find it again. This dev talked about the process of creating epic quests (and why they didn't think they would make any more). I recall hearing about their first day at work, and how much testing goes on for a new quest.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? I'm giving a talk in the near future, and this type of info would be very helpful -- to show how much work goes into creating content for Everquest.

I'd sure appreciate any additional info the community might have.

If only today's EQ gave a flying fuck like the old days.
Not sure I would discuss 10 year old dev practices since anyone familiar with EQ live today, would laugh you out of the building.
However good luck finding whatever you are seeking.

This is my search term, it didn't really give me anything along those lines (Advanced -> Sort by Custom date -> 1999-2002)

everquest epic quest developer interview -pantheon -2 -3 -next -emu -wow -worldofwarcraft

Yeah, I couldn't find anything either. But I remember reading it at some point. I just wish I could cite it. This just gnaws at me.

I did another wild search, found something awesome.

A GOOGLE BOOK (Chapter 10)

The link's giant because this was my search term:

everquest epic quest creation -request -Miyamoto -ii -2 -3 -next -wow -f2p -p99 -project1999 -warcraft -pantheon

I've got the find the dev interview fever.

Sounds like Bill Fisher who created several of the epic quests for eq. I've talked to him about them and he told me his first day as an intern iirc he was told "Make some epic quests". He's now the lead for Rift over at Trion.
