old boats and platforms issue

I want to know if there is a way to use the old platforms like the one in halas that.moves across the water. Just trying to get back a more classic feel to my server. Also the boats that go from like Freeport to butcher ect. Is there anyway to get those working again. If you try and walk on them you fall through. Any help would be great.

Sony broke the Qeynos and freeport boats with a direct3d update.

Halas boat works fine for me.

Does P1999 even have those working? I know with an extremely old client it would probably be possible.

Well the problem is the boats in the game are those white ones and they are too high off the water so you can't even get on the platform. It's really annoying id like to be able to at least change the model it uses

Search the forums... There was a discussion about that very topic 6 months to a year ago...

EDIT: I can't find the one I was looking for..there are a couple of boat/ship threads though.

Yes they have them working but dont expect help from them as they dont contribute to EQEMU.

They never contribute?

well i figured out how to change the models for the ships in halas ect but I cant find the old model that was used before. model 73 is what the platform uses now. and if I change the race to 0 i get a different model of boat but its not the right one. also how would I fix the npcs height. thats what the boat is considered so if I cant get the model right id like to atleast lower the boat into the water more. but im not sure how to go about that.

Correct, they never contribute boat fixes to eqemu.

demonstar55 06-18-2014 08:49 PM

Just because you don't know when they contribute doesn't mean they don't.

Tyen05 06-18-2014 10:09 PM

Boat fix has not been contributed to eqemu.

If you want to pick apart what has or has not been contributed by p99 to eqemu then do it with me somewhere else.

Bottom line is boat fix has not been contributed. Foaming at the mouth about how p99 supposidly contributes is not part of this conversation.

To repeat myself, boat fix is not contributed to eqemu by p99.
