Map issue.
My server is about 18 months out of date with updates, etc.
I was having some water combat issues related to targets hitting me but me not being able to hit them, yet receiving no messages. Someone suggested that I should perhaps check out regenerating my map and wtr files with the latest azone and water utilities. I downloaded the source and built these on my Ubuntu 32 bit system. I then ran them and created new map and wtr files. My 1st test looked good, a spot I had trouble with in combat seemed better. However, the second character I played, I ran into LOS issues that didn't exist before. Mobs on the other side of a hill/mountain had LOS to me where before they did not. Does the fact that I built the tools on linux and ran the on linus with the Windows directory of maps mounted come into play at all? Does the code have any platform dependant stuff? I could retry on windows but I dont have a Windows build environment at all and the precompiled binaries of the latest is for 64bit. |
Think I answered my own question. My code base is too old.
I guess it migth be time to start from scratch again, then see if you guys will let me check in some of my mods using RULES or ifdefs. |
I'd like to chime in and ask where the current map files can be obtained.
I ended up pulling them from my previous server. Path files I pulled form http://www.eqpvp.com/paths/ (with a few local additions which I emailed to Image, but were never made available) |
I'm working on a EQEmu Windows Server repack that has everything PEQ lined out A-Z and working with one simple MSI install that should take care of a majority of these types of threads.
If you're looking for map files you can download the latest generated from FTP: ezd.akkadius.com maps/maps |
This ftp site still active? Are the new apps loading as v2?
