NPC responding to hail, but no quest file?
 

I've encountered a strange problem with the NPC Ratraz in neriakc. I don't have any quest file for him in my EQEmu/quests/neriakc folder, yet he will still respond to a hail with a message. If I create a file Ratraz.pl with some new message for hailing him, it will work but I will also get back the original message when there is no file.

There's no npcid.pl file in the folder for him either, and I don't seem to see anything in quests/global either. I've tried using the explorer search function on the entire quests folder but nothing came up. Any ideas what's going on here?

Do you have default.pl in your plugins folder?

What is the message that you get when there is no file?

Do a search for the responding text. If Windows use Notepad++ and do a folder search, Linux use grep -r

I figured it out. It has to do with this EmoteID attached to the npcid, never knew these existed!
