Friends cant Connect but i can on LAN

ive gotten as far as connecting to my server thro the public eqemu loginserver but when anyone outside the LAN attempts to join it just kicks them back to the login screen, now its been awhile since ive dealt with that problem i know its something small and any help would be greatly appreciated. also i have at t internet with IP Passthrough for the server on when i attempt to forward ports with ip passthrough on the ports conflict so i assume they are the same thing.

This is the eqemu_config.xml file I am using right now for my public server (The LockJaw)
(NOTE: with obvious names, passwords,numbers changed in RED)
I have ports 5998, 5999, 7000 to 7500 and 9000 open on my router.

Code:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<server>
        <world>
                <shortname>huppys</shortname>
                <longname>Huppys Test Server</longname>

You need to take out the localaddress you put in. and add another line to your login.eqemulator.net section. It will look like this.

<loginserver1>
<host>192.168.1.x</host>
<port>5998</port>
<account>xxxxx</account>
<password>xxxx</password>
</loginserver1>
<loginserver2>
<host>login.eqemulator.net</host>
<port>5998</port>
<account></account>
<password></password>
</loginserver2>

After the recent updates ive had issues with people connecting to my server if I specified my local address. You can try it and see if that fixes it for you.

When you add that second section in it gives your server 2 ways to login, locally and over the net. (althow now that I think about it you might need to have a loginserver compiled to do it that way) Sorry might be useless advice lol

Sorry, when I posted my config for him to use, I didn't see any indication in his issue that
referred to a dual login, (if thats what he's looking for). He just said friends can't connect,
(similiar to another post, which refers to dual login issues).

thank you for replying you both, now do you know if i need a public subnet for the ports to apply? because i forwarded the ports and still run into the same issue my server is on the emulator right now and you could try to join it with no luck im thinking its how at &t have their routers set up ...

Nightrider84 01-11-2016 01:51 AM

do you use a router and a modem seperately? Also if you have a router and a modem is the modem a dual setup I.e. a router and a modem built into one piece of crap.....Also I really need to see his eqemu.config file so I can see the setup. 1 letter wrong can screw the whole thing up.

world ip address needs to be changed for outside connections too work.

Make sure your firewall allows connections on that port. Its usually the thing I forget :)
