Interacting with inventory exits me to login screen.
This morning I went to troubleshoot why my friend is not able to zone into some zones such as bloodfields. My understanding was that all zones, by default, were open to him up to TSS (expansionsettings = 16383).
I logged in with my account on one client and his on another at the same time. I then created a test character on his account, level it to 55, made him invulnerable for the run. His account does not have any sort of GM access. I wanted to make the hike and try zoning in myself, starting in PoK, to see what happens. I summoned some SoW potions and upon handing him the potions my account dropped out to the log in screen, where you enter your username and password, and when I logged back in the potions were gone. Now it seems if there is any sort of inventory interaction on my account I exit to the login screen to put in my credentials again and what item I clicked is gone. I created a new character on my account to test and the same thing occurs. His account is perfectly fine. Any obvious ideas on what is causing this? Any particular logs I should check or other logs I need to turn on that aren't on by default? I checked the ones in C:\EQEmuServer\Logs and didn't see any errors in the files with today's timestamp. The only thing I get is in the EQEmu Login Server DOS window is "Session ready indicated login from world(unsupported feature), disconnecting. This happens the moment I get booted out. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. EDIT - I tested buying and right click looting and both work. It appears to happen when you are physically clicking, adding or removing, items in your inventory. |
We have to assume that you are using a 'default' database when you don't post related information.
With a default database, I've only heard of this problem once or twice and it was associated with an item stat that a client doesn't support. As far as a fix for your account, open up HeidiSQL and find the inventory of your affected character. Delete the offending SoW potion entry and see if that clears up the issue. |
I checked and these potions are not showing in the database inventory for this character. The problem is happening on all existing characters on this account and any newly created characters. I have tested both RoF and UF clients. RoF is what I usually use.
I am using default settings except a couple of changes. AA exp rate up to .65, GM can trade no drop items and max level 70 I believe were my last set of changes. Any other ideas or is there some sort of corruption happening? EDIT - Would an inventory corruption in one character cause the other characters to have the same problem? I could try deleting his entire inventory to verify no rogue ghost items are showing if you believe this would help. |
I'm not sure what would cause a corruption of all of your characters...
Usually an inventory issue affects just the single character. Did you manage to ban yourself somehow? |
I do not believe so as everything else works flawlessly. I can do every single thing except click items in my inventory or items that are equipped. Soon as I click any of these, or try to drop something into the inventory I will crash to login and that item that was clicked or dropped into the inventory will be gone. Long as I don't click my inventory I can hunt, zone, use gm commands and loot corpses. It does let me click my currently without any problems.
Under account I have compared my settings to my friend. The main items that are different is that I am Status 250 and Rulesflag is 1 while his is 0. The later I am not sure what it is. If you can think of anything else I will gladly check it. I will attempt to create another account and see what happens. If it functions fine, I will rename the old character, start a new one and begin recreating the items the prior guy had. I assume I can change the owner ID of my bots and they will change ownership with no problem? I do appreciate the help you have been giving me. |
I don't know how old your code is..but, I made some pretty broad changes to inventory variable references recently.
Is your code newer than the last couple of weeks? I did test all of the slot ranges on all of the supported clients before committing it..but, that doesn't mean that a typo didn't occur somewhere. Post the item ID of the SoW potion that you used and I'll see if I can replicate it. |
Looks like the game was created 4-22-2016. Do keep in mind I am new to all of this. This is my first time so there is potential for newb error though I try to be cautious with things.
The problem was noticed after restarting the server and doing the things in the first post here concerning my friends account. I did loot items last night and changed my inventory around. In case the sow potions did cause the problem this morning I either summoned a 5 or 10 dose but I believe it was a five. Here is the ID for that 14282. On the off chance it was a 10, here is the ID for that one 14534. Do keep in mind I made the change that allowed GMs to trade no drops before the server reset and the first thing I done after restarting was try trading. Though it was a droppable item. Either way they both had to do with trading, in case that helps. It was FVNoDropFlag 2. Let me know if there is anything you would like me to test or check. I will try setting that option back to default and restart the server. If it helps I will let you know. |
That fixed the problem. Having that set to a 2 caused any item in the paperdoll, or inventory, to instantly knock the client back to the login screen and ate the item.

Roger that - and thanks for sharing the cause-effect-fix for it :)
