Private login server
So I finally got the client to login correctly for public but The private login shows a new client connection but the client cant see the private login server on the list. So im going to try and use my old privatelogin.exe as a temporary fix but im just unsure if its the compile itself thats messed up or my config file. Can someone running a private login on the new compile just compare it to mine and let me know if I have a setting wrong.
EDIT I can confirm that my old compile for my login server works correctly. <?xml version="1.0"?> <server> <world> <shortname>****</shortname> <longname>Secrets of Faydwer</longname> <!-- Only specify these two if you really think you need to. (read: You don't) --> <address>**************</address> --> <localaddress>192.168.1.105</localaddress> --> <!-- Loginserver information. add Admin and Password for private login to show up ---> <loginserver1> <host>192.168.1.105</host> <port>5998</port> <account>*****</account> <password>*****</password> </loginserver1> <loginserver2> <legacy>1</legacy> <host>login.eqemulator.net</host> <port>5998</port> <account></account> <password></password> </loginserver2> <!-- Server status. Private login server running on the same machine or vm? Did you already change your client host name to the private or public ip of the server where the loginserver is running?

So the Private login is on the same machine. not not sure what you mean by your second question provocating.
Also I changed the sytax to see if that made a difference and it didn't. Tried it with both my local ip address and 127.0.0.1 <address>gamegenie.servebeer.com</address> --> <localaddress>192.168.1.105</localaddress> --> <!-- Loginserver information. add Admin and Password for private login to show up ---> <loginserver1> <host>192.168.1.105</host> <port>5998</port> <account>****</account> <password>*****</password> </loginserver1> <loginserver2> <legacy>1</legacy> <host>login.eqemulator.net</host> <port>5998</port> <account></account> <password></password> </loginserver2> <!-- Server status. Default is unlocked --> <!--<locked/>--> <!-- <unlocked/> --> <!-- Sets the ip/port for the tcp connections. Both zones and console (if enabled). Defaults are shown --> <tcp ip="127.0.0.1" port="9001" telnet="enable"/> <telnet ip="127.0.0.1" port="9000" enabled="true"/> |
the only other thing different for me is the chatserver/mailserver, then...
i only have the <port> portion for each of those... i didn't set/edit those, should be what's in the default xml file. (actually reverted back to that as you'll read below) i did put my local address in for the chatserver/mailserver portions as you do and the server wouldn't load.. but i have no 'chatserver etc' if one is required outside the normal eqemu/loginserver compiles. i don't have mine open to public, so there are some differences for that at top of your config file. simplify it so that it does load.. .strip it back to default, if necessary... then slowly add whatever custom you do from default until it won't load... then you know that's the hiccup, or possibly 1 of 'them'. if more, you'll find them as you add the custom stuff one thing at a time. |

Oh I have a bunch of different clients so ive tried to load it with my client for private and one for eqemu's and the private one wouldn't load. I did however just use my old loginserver.exe and left all the new compiled ones and it works so i guess ill just stick with that for now. Kind of an annoying issue more or less
