zone unavailable error
 

So i have installed a clean version of the server and database let it all update using the installer works perfectly with the titanium, ROF2, and UF clients.

Then i use the option from the installer to add bots on the server and all of a sudden every zone is unavailable except south quenos and tutorial zone. I've tried 3 times now to check and recheck databse and reinstall database and server every time it works perfect until i try installing bots.

I can't remember if the limit is 60 or 90 seconds..but, that's definitely the issue.

I don't recall seeing that with bots alone..my problem was always with the original map loading code.

Map mmfs kinda went south since navmesh went live (I think..) or, at least since the map directory structure was changed.


EDIT:

I just tested 'gfaydark' and 'moors' (moors was always a problem for my system..) and was able to get in with bots enabled
and without map mmfs. It took a little longer, as expected, but no timeout.


Bots do add a couple of seconds to zone start-up due to the dynamic list creation of available spells for bot commands.

That, in itself, shouldn't be causing the timeout issue, though...

I am having the exact same problem, been trying to run a server with bots but when i have them setup i lose access to a significant amount of the larger zones (gfay/butcherblock/steamfront) and just hang entering _____..... When I create a server without setting up bots I have no issues. I am not an expert and just started playing around with eqemu out of Nostalgia for the old days, hoping even a newbs perspective can help resolve this.

Same issue. I have tested on 2 different systems and the issue seems to follow the bots. I noticed it first with Rivervale when I first initialized bots. I have #zone to every zone in traditional to test which ones do not work.
I have also tested with Titanium and RoF2 with the same results.

I was leaning towards large zones except N. Kaladim dont make since there and I would expect Stonebrunt Mountains to be an issue. I am not certain why these zones cause issues when bots are enabled and others dont...

To be honest, I could be skipping a step and not realizing it. I can create bots. Group with bots. Use other commands but still perhaps I skipped one minor (critical step) after using the setup_bots command.

I also wish there was a disable bot option. Redoing the install is time consuming(boring).

The size of the zone isn't an important factor..just the poly count.

Try going to `moors` with bots uninstalled and see if you can get in. (Just use bots-disabled binaries.)

Not certain what that means. =)


Using my other system though, I was able to load into Moors, GFaydark, West Karana....
This system has not had bots enabled.

On a whim because of your earlier test, I also decided to try Moors on the Bot-enabled computer. It also was able to access Moors. GFaydark still is inaccessible though.

Last attempt of zonings:
Have a nobots database and bots database on the same server. Only change is bots. Account without bots loaded GFaydark no problem. Account with bots never loads.

I am curious if the red portion matters. I dont have an F:\ (Looked at some other logs posted on forum/wiki and this seems to be just a common error generator)

Looked in db_version:
version is 9122
bots_version is 9018

The NoBots is straightforward and clean.
On the other hand, the Bots is not so nice

I updated the windows pre-built bots binaries..try updating and see if that resolves the issue.

The file paths are built into the debug libs..which is why you see:That should also be fixed in the newest bots build.
