What kind of server is needed
 

I am looking to set up a server to run the game for my friend and wondered what kind of server is needed. I see all types ranging from application servers to web servers. I am currently running windows 10 so not sure if i can do it through that or need to install something else.

That will work fine. Just run the windows installer on left side of forums and if your using a router you need to forward port the ports listed in the .json file to the pc you installed the eq server to. And start it up with the .bat. while your viewing the .json file you should also change the name for your server.
