Minimum and maximum specs to run EQ

Hi all

I've been trying to find the minimum and maximum required specs needed to run EQ but have only found the specs for the live servers on the internet.

It may be obvious and I simply missed it but can anyone point me in the right direction.

Thanks guys

Hi assuming you are referring to server install. I recently setup a few private servers using DigitalOcean’s droplets and the minimum I am able to get the install working is 2 vcpus and 4 GB of ram (Ubuntu). I think someone in the forum was able to setup with 2GB of RAM but I tried a few times and none succeeded. Mind you your mileage may vary, or different provider may have different settings (my cheapest droplets has shared CPU).

At home I have Windows emu loaded on an old intel with 16GB of RAM, and never saw it using more than 4GB.

Hope that helps.

For just a simple home server, 2 cores and 4G ram is an acceptable minimum. (IMO), but the most important load balance needed is sitting in the chair in front of your keyboard. ;)

I appreciate the answers. I was interested in asking about server specs so thanks all but with my original post I was actually talking about running a client and if I chose to box how much higher would the specs need to be increased per client.

Oops, sorry Massy, guess I didn't pick up on that. In the past I used a box with a with a quad processor, 2gig display card and 16 gigs of ram, boxing 4 toons. I found that, somewhat borderline doable at the time.(for my preferences)
