Minilogin server Questions & Errors..

He guys, getting some errors when we try to use the Minilogin over network.

World.exe gives the following errors when run:

Also, when we get an account to login, there is no servers to select to connect to... :?: :?:

Following is copy of what is in my LoginServer.ini

worldaddress=localhost

the login and password fields in the loginserver.ini should be left blank as I recall (im not possitive)...

I think its only in the db.ini you need to specify login and password for the database access - no place else

About the time of day error.. I think everybody gets it - its not important, I hope ;)

Anyway, hope that helps - someone else back me up about the loginserver.ini login/pws fields or correct me please - cause Im not sure... Just try to leave em out though, heh.

Yes, they should be left blank as mentioned.

Also, on teh login screen there will be no servers except yours since you are using minilogin and hosting the server....This is of course once you get world.exe and the zone.exe(s) loaded properly at that. Otherwise there will be no server listed.

As for the time of day, I used to get that but did the # command to set the time of day and never got it again after that (it is like it forced it to create the needed file to use). I haven't a clue what the command is at the moment, although you can just look in the FAQ and find it. It's rather obvious like #settimeofday or something. It isn't important anyway without it. If you don't have it, your server's EQ time just isn't updated and resets each time you load a zone I believe.

When logging in the minilogin server, I get an error at the station name/password prompt, telling me its an incorrect version of the game i'm running, can't seem to get past that, if anyone knows why.

Using windows xp, followed the miniserver set up process to a T, as listed on the site. Haven't run the actual game of eq for over a month, so i'm wondering if anyone has any ideas. Thanks for your time.

P.S. Great work with this site and the emulators

Spoogie,
I am very new also, and I too went through the instructions. And early on I was very frustated. But after a couple of weeks (probably a total of !!! 22+ hours !!!), I have a working local server.

I believe the most nebulous piece to my puzzle to find was this:
when you last patched eq versus what minilogin expects for the patch date

So like in your example I was getting "incorrect version". (plenty of posts about that if you search)

One day I read this post:

http://forums.eqemu.net/viewtopic.ph...c28c654ff0c3ea

So I patched the latest with Ver@nt. I then downloaded the file mentioned, and then it was working. (I set my eqhosts.txt back to local also etc)

It sounds like from your post that you have your router/ip/xp issues taken care of. After you get this login problem fixed, it will probably be zones, doors, npcs, etc. (We are waiting for 0.4.1 for roaming npcs)

I had problems with finding the questions on why it all doesn't work; but once I understood the questions better, I found answers in this forum using Search. It sounds kinda silly, but if you just read all the new posts every few days, it helps.
