Roleplaying in a roleplaying game?
 

Are there any plans for a serious EQemu server? One where everyone is NOT level65 with every item a billion gold etc?

i was really looking forward to finally getting to play EQ, but to start with everything is to skip the game.

I wanna hook up with a few newbies and hunt mice only to rejoyce at finding my first platnum piece and feel my heart race when i get to level 10!!!

Its all about adventure, learning and finding that first rare item!

The type of server your talking about is called a "legit" server. My server will become legit on Jan 31, its normally up 24/7 but my hard drive crashed last night so it is down until this afternoon when I reload everything :/ There are a couple of legit servers right now, the only name that comes to mind is Wintersroar.

well when your shard comes online myself and 4 others are eager to play.

ps. i heard you can only have 1 zone per server (computer). is this true? and how big is a zone?

Zones (Oringal EQ Zones, No Planner Zones, yet)

Currently the server is locked as the zone grids are setup and noobie area's are defined.

Our goal is to make the orginal eq doable up to level 65 with minor tweeks to some zones but all kept around a 2 or 3 person party but including content up to a full group to enjoy.

Some new items, 90% of the old items and things that where removed make there way back.

We have 3 machines running just the zones (p4 2200's i think maybe amd or both)

Hope to see people actully playing soon.

You can have as many zones as the computer can handle. It's not limited to just one.
