Hello,
First, I'd like to let you all know that I have done research on this error, and can not find a fix for it. Also, it seems that if it's not one thing wrong wi th EqEmu it's another. Just recently every name I selected was rejected. After this was fixed the 1017 error started occuring again. Here's to hoping somebody has a surefire fix for 1017, and that someday maybe EqEmu will be easier to set up and less bug free. To me it seems more people have trouble getting it working than people that can, not to be rude or anything. It's just that I have spent far too much time with this and not one thing has fixed it.

There are a million causes for that error... More often than not it's misconfiguration..

Of course there are bugs, it's in development.. Alot of people that try to set it up also don't have the necessary computer skills to be able to work through the issues, not to be rude either.

If you want a bugfree piece of software, go live in fantasyworld cause I ain't seen one yet.. LOL...

Ok, I fixed it. All i had to do was go into the mysql console and type:

CREATE IN account SET name='eqemu', password='eqemu', status='200';

Somehow this fixed it. My guess is that creation of accounts using "world adduser eqemu eqemu 200" is bugged, and I have heard people say that here on the forums. I also got the minilogin fix posted on the topic "I fixed minilogin!!!".

What i'm trying to say is, i think all that is needed to fix the 1017 error is the minilogin fix and to type in the above phrase in mysql.exe.

Sorry if I sounded rude before about it being buggy, I was a bit a tired, hungry, and frustrated, resulting in me coming off in a bad way, which I by no means meant to.
