Zone files
 

This may not be related to eqemu but i could care less at this point.and maybe it does relate.ok here we go.for some reason.i dont have any of the zone files it says or it doesnt let me in.while other friends are in that zone i cant get in or dont have it.its not even expansion probs.i just dont have the zones.anybody got a solution?

Man it is hard to read what you are saying when you don't use any spaces. Can you be more specific on which zones you are trying to enter. Sounds like you don't have the actual zonefiles that are needed. Also is this on your server or elsewhere. I think your best bet is to go on EQLive and make sure that optional zones and everything else is checked. If you only have the EQ Classic game then you only get the first 3 continents. You need to actually install the expansions if you want to play them. EQ doesn't allow you to download them unless they are installed first.

The optional zones sometimes catch people out, The Hole, Plain of Hate etc. They are not included on the CD but are free zones and therefor not from an expansion.

You can download these by selecting the optional zones fromt he patch program advanced menu.

Also verious zones are from different expansions and without that expansion installed, you will not be able to enter those zones.

Forget trying to get into cshome unless you are or have been an EQ guide/GM. It's a place most of us here have not seen, sadly :/

well.if it says i have 4 expansions on i have 4 expansions on.I cant hardly access any of them except a few.that means if im playing reg eq then i cant get into some of the zones.and that means sometin screwed up is going on.this is on other servers.no way in hell ican host a eq server.not on this pc.they say they dont have the zones but i dont have them period.they must either be not there or do not exsist.cuz theres 100's of files in the eq dir.alot of them are zones.and i patched the packages.theres just zones missing.how screwed up.well thanks.if u have better advice this time lol.plz tell me.i dont get it.i can hardly get into any of the zones.thanks

Under EqEmu all expansions are 'enabled', however that does not meen the files mysteriously transfer themselves over the ether from the shop shelves to your PC. There are valid technical reasons for this.

If you don't have the expansions installed from the CD then you wont be able to load up zones from that expansion.

Now perhaps you could clarify what expansions you have installed (Ruins of Kunark, Scars of Velious, Shadows of Luclin, Plains of Power) and some of the zones you are having problems with?

We are not pyschic, we are not being paid to support you, like you we are users of EqEmu.

Perhaps you could show a little respect, and help us to help you solve your technical issue. Better help can only result from a better description of the problem.

Well.i guess it wont work with trilogy then.thats no classic.i dont quite see what it is.explain to me if its just to put them on ur pc or it really puts them all on ur pc at once.even if im behind on the expansions i still should have most of the zones.maybe it just dont plane work.i dont know anymore.i only tried everquest once on sony.everything worked spiffy.well i dunno 8)
