Where does race id numbers come from?
Greetings,
I am relatively new to this but I have run into a problem that I don't quite know how to get around. When spawning an NPC, I understand that the race is what gives it it's appearance. I also know there is a list in the readme.txt of these IDs and a table of common spawns which already have these id's assigned. What I wish to know is, how do you identify or add a race number for a race that doesn't appear to have been added? Examples: Klandicar, Sontalak in Western Wastes. Zlandicar in Dragon Necropolis. All the dragons in Temple of Veeshan. Is this trial and error? Is there a method to extract this information from the zone files? Do I need to sniff packets and give them to someone to extract this information? A push off in the right direction would be great. Thank you in advance. :) |
You can use SpawnED to find all the info u need. Also in game u can type #npcstats and it will give u info such as race, class, material, etc. The race for the spawns in PoP zones are currently incorrect. The current EMU version does not properly read the SQL database, or is limited for that data, so the races for PoP spawns are wrong when read in game using #npcstats.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have tried Spawned, but I am getting an ODBC error, specifically, it says:
Error: -2147467259 [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified. I have installed the most recent version of the MySQL ODBC drivers. It seems as though the application is looking for a DSN with a specific name - however it isn't giving me this information so I cannot create it. When I supply credentials after clicking OK for the error, it gives the same error message. I am running Windows XP Pro, I believe it has all the latest patches and such on it. There isn't a readme or anything with this application that I can see, so i'm not really certain what I am missing. Any further assistance appreciated. |
Did u download and install MySQL before u installed the ODBC drivers? If u did check the MySQL website for help on that ODBC error.
