I really need help, pls reply!
OK i do this from one of the other topics
1)Click Start 2)Click Run 3)Type in 'command' 4)Type in 'cd..' 5)Type in 'cd PROGRA~1' 6)Type in 'cd Everquest' 7)Type in 'eqgame.exe patchme' I dont type the quotes, when i get to step 5, it says invalid directory or something. I tried instead of PROGRA i typed PROGRAM still nothing. I also did the EQhost thing, and have EQW. SO any suggestions.(i have worked at this for over an hour now, pls help) |
Not to be rude, but you need to learn a little basic DOS navigation first. Theres plenty of tutorials on the web on using DOS. You're problem is changing to the correct directory. Directories can be different, so you need to learn to use the 'cd' , change directory, and 'dir' , list directory commands to navigate there.

you probably got the progra~1 from my post, thats what works for me using windows 98 to get me to the Program Files directory, i did fail to mention that, wasn't sure if it worked with other windows or not.
Unless it was at the C:\WINDOWS directory seeing as you only typed cd.. 1 time. Then it will be incorrect, you need to be at the C:\, thats it. It is easier just to type the location of your eqgame.exe file all in quote, and then type patchme outside the quotes. |

in windows XP, typing cd program files will work just like using the good ol' cd progra~1. Full folder names can now be used in place of the old DOS 8.3 compatible ones.
