keyboard problem with eqw

When i run eqw it starts up eq, i accept the user agreement and then it says " directinput keyboard open failed!, code= 80070005" can anyone help me to solve this problem, i have installed the new directx to try to fix it but it didnt work for me. i am running windows 98.

what version of eqw r u using?

For EQEMU0.4.4 ------> EQW 2.32 (NOT 2.35)
