Yet Another 1017

First off, my great thanks to all the people that have no doubt spent countless hours on this and have answered many many cries for advice and help.

I'm pretty noob when it comes to this stuff, so bare with me. I played Hacking Forever server for a few nights and was pretty intrigued so I decided to play around and create a server of my own.

I have gotten this far:

World.exe loads fine, no problems
Boot5zones.exe loads just fine as well

I log into to server selection and try and join my and server and get smacked with our lovely friend 1017.

My current OS is Windows 98 and I'm connecting to the internet through a router.

I've browsed a bunch of posts looking for problems similar to mine for a solution. I almost 100% positive that I haven't upgraded EQ to far as I can still join running servers.

From what I've been reading, it sounds like it's my router, but I'm not really sure what to do.

Thank you in advance for any help.

I have gotten this same error since version 4.0. I am not using a router, just a basic cable. I finally just started helping others with servers but then they disappear and have no way of testing :P Other servers work fine as well. Maybe its just a few people, they bug the emu in the download to the every 1000th person, hehe. It is weird though, 1017 error on public server after clicking "Play EverQuest, crash from character screen after clicking "Enter World" on Minilogin. *sigh* there is no hope! lol, it confuses my mind! I have no errors in any of my files either.

I just think the emu hates us Warhead :(
