Question about zone servers
 

Is it possible to run more zone servers off other windows PCs on a LAN for one world server?

Yes, it is possible, I know 1 server thats up right now currently does that, can't remember which one though :( Not sure how to though, just letting u know that it is possible :) I am getting thoughts in my head about how this could be possible, but would hate to post the wrong info.

Well at least i know it possible then :o i was thinking just set ip address of zone server to the one the world server is on, but did not work, if anyone else has any input, i'd be glad to hear it

I've been trying to do it myself for about 2 weeks. Everyone seems to know it's possible but when you ask for help setting it up nobody seems to know how. :?

Yes its not a problem. I currently have 1 world server machine and 3 zone server machines. I use one of the zone servers and set all the starting citys to static zones. That allows everone access if the other 2 zone servers have spawned all the zones. If you would like post a private message to me and i will send you the config files and help ya get setup.

Why not just post the info here on how to do it?

You bumped an old post, try searching the forums, they probably have a tutorial on this sort of stuff.

that's for boot5zones.bat

edit all the .ini files to get the right info about the world server and the DB server and it will be ok.
