Crashing to desktop before i get the char select
 

When I click to join a server, looks like everything is going like normal and then when the load bar says Finished Loading World..., it stops a few seconds and then the EQ window disappeared. I have no idea what to do. Ive tried using patcher. Same thing. What do i do?

Do you get any errors in the output from the zone or world servers?

I have the same problem and so does my three friends here sitting next to me with diffrent computers diffrent hardward and stuff so its not user based. Please help

And how many times has it been said to post your system info. Minilogin.txt, loginserver.ini, etc. here so people can attempt to help you. Just don't think we automatically know every answer, as some require trial and error and as for a crashing to desktop bug when hitting the character select screen, who hasn't seen that before. Help us out.

Also, make sure you are using the new eqhost.txt that can be found on the website. That is if you are playing on EQEmu servers... Ahhhh... just tell us a little more. Solo server, or EQEmu?

Im having the same problem, except i reformated my computer,EQEmu was running fine before I did. I did all the correct installation just like it was before then i start Eqemu Patcheer it says missing file: "eqOptions1.opt" but i can get past that, i put in username and pass, go through the server list and pick one, when i get to Finished Loading world... It just automatically crashes to desktop... Any info or help would be great... Thanks :D

d) Loging/hosting
e) Tried both ways didnt work.
f) None
g) Day Prior to LOY
h) Athlon 1800 XP , 786 DDR megs of Ram, Geforce 4 MX 440 64 Meg, Cable Modem, Hercules Muse XL.

If runned EQEmu patcher and still crash to desktop, you might try to rename EQUI_Animations.xml in uifiles\default directory and put the one at this page there.

Fell free to give it a shoot.

Edit: This trick is no longer necessary, EQemu patcher gives you a working version.

that worked for me. I had to start via the patchme method or the patcher wourl download the older xml file.

Rename it what? I replaced it and it didnt work....
I'll never get to play the emu again....
