about 0.4.3-DR2

Just a simple question, Yesterday I upgraded to 0.4.3-DR2, updated my DB and copied my /quests/ folder to the Emu directory but they don't seem to work at all. Everything else is working great though. Any clue ?

Edit: Well.. what I thought wasn't true, so I don't know.. sorry =/

If you pulled it off of CVS, it implements the new quest system, the old one's arent compatible anymore.

TheOne 02-25-2003 08:24 AM

I did

I did pull it off the CVS, Is there some info on the web about the new quest system so I could possibly re-add my quests to the server ?

Trumpcard 02-25-2003 08:25 AM

Theres a mini doc. that JAW or DEV started in the Quest forum on the new vs. old formats

just_add_water 02-25-2003 11:20 AM

Heh the Quest forum isn't open to the public yet.

Trumpcard 02-25-2003 01:03 PM

oops...lol.... maybe it's about time

TheOne 02-25-2003 02:28 PM

Yeah :\

Yeah :\ I would really like to convert the quests I had just included to the server. Any chance you guys can open the forum up for us ? or maybe just tell us the basic structure of the new quest System ?

Are regular users allowed to download 4.3 dr ? or is that strictly for the devs

TheOne 02-25-2003 11:56 PM

I guess so

I guess so you can get it here
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/eqemu/

But you have to compile it yourself and I don't think they support it if you have any problems setting it up.

Trumpcard 02-26-2003 02:29 AM

Yea, no support provided for DR releases. They're basiclly for people who want to be on the bleeding edge (and typiclly we expect them to support themselves!) You get the good and the bad of using a DR release.

It is freely available, I update the CVS tree every few days to map up to whats in our development system. I'd use a cvs client though like wincvs, or commandline cvs rather than trying to save from that sourceforge browse page.

Is there anyway to get all the files at once. Hate having to download them all.. click.. by click... aaeeghh!

Trumpcard 02-26-2003 11:32 AM

i just said download winCVS...

Shessh !

fnemo 02-26-2003 06:29 PM

Just to make Trump get angry  :

dont say "DR releases" but just "DRs" or "DR" or "D releases" since the "R" stands for release.

I have bad english but at least, i wont make this error :p
