1017 Error still after trying everything
 

Ok i've tried everything on all the post/readmes/and howtos. I still get the 1017 error.

I'm on a LAN. Both computers running WINXP PRO
address of computer running world.exe, minilogin.exe, boot5zone.bat 192.168.1.104
address of computer running EQ 192.168.1.101
Please Help
EVERYTHING IS UPTODATE. I dled everything yesterday.

I dont know if it matters, but I had run across issues using a non-standar IP for some of the entries (IE: localhost). Try using the IP of the server instead of "localhost". I think this is even more important in the boot5zones.bat file. I'm not sure if the worldserver relays the address exactly as you have it in the INI. If this was the case, you would log in, the worldserver would say "localhost is the address for login" and your computer would say "Duh, you stupid worldserver, I have no login server running". Sorry for the dumbed down version, but I didnt feel like putting it any other way. Tell me how that works.

ok well i just did what you said. it all worked execpt for the file you edit for world.exe i had to keep that as localhost in order to get world.exe to work properly

the up side is that i'm getting aciton in those windows now. The black screen hangs longer also it just doesn't boot me to the server screen it stays black for a minute then drops it here is what the windows say

Hopefully we can figure this out

The unknown Opcode I think is because of the version of EQ you are running. I had to download the EQ Patcher from the main page and ran that to pull the appropriate EQ files. After I ran this, I was in and running.

ok I ran the patcher and now i'm getting even closer

I get an error saying

192.168.1.101: wrong name/pass: name='krillin323unused'

the username i'm using is krillin3230
i've set it up in the minilogin file and in the mysql
what do i do to fix this

Rename the minilogon.ini file and reload everything. Still log in with the same name/pass and see if it's any different. It will use the eqemu ID/pass that way.

ok i can log in now but

There are no NPC or Mobs. how do i get them into the game?

Try downloading one of the others databases and updating that one just like the first until you find one that has the mobs. I thought the one I said has NPC's but no random mobs, then again, I only checked Butcherblock.

Where can i download the databases from? I don't see anywhere to dl them. oh btw thanks for all the help so far

ok i got the database but i don't know how to install it. I got the one that has a D in the name can't think of it right now. but it's got all the text files. i need a n00bs guide to it. thakns

I'm pretty sure you downloaded Drawde's so here's wut ya can do...
Say you installed it to C:\Drawde\
There u have:
city_defense.txt
faction_list.txt
loot.txt
merchantlist.txt
and so on...

So you need to run mysql
Type use eq (or whatever your database is called)
Then type: source C:\Drawde\city_defense.txt
and just use the same format for the rest but replacing the name of the .txt document
so the next would be: source C:\Drawde\faction_list.txt

Make sure not to source the reloadDB.sql because you will get errors saying that it was unable to locate the text files.

There is a ReloadDB.sql in there that should do it all for you but i just did it the hard way :)... It still got the job done.

ok i'm getting them loaded but the npc_faction.txt file when i add it it gives me error 1054:unkown column 'npc_id' in 'field list'

what do i do to fix this

I finally got my server up and running today after deleting my miniloginaccounts.ini file from my eqemu directory.

Have you tried doing this?
