Two of the main things I think to check on a Local setup using minilogin is your EQHOST.TXT file since running either the official patch or the EQemu patch will change the file.
The other time I have ran into this error is when I had not successfully created the account. That step is missing from some of the instructions I have seen here. Also missing from some insturctions I have seen is the need for the miniloginaccounts.ini file. All the info can be found in these forums doing some searches so I won't go over the details. |
is it possible to host and play on one computer?

We can't help you if you do not post the required material.
you're supposed to post your db.ini, loginserver.ini and boot5zones.bat file. |

That being said part of the fun of EQ was the interaction (it was also a drawback at times) so playing solo will get boring. To make it remotely fun for a single person I think (my opinion) you need to have zones populated, factions implemented (so things attack you), loot drops included. Then a biggie if it can be done in the database is to eliminate downtime as much as possible. Waiting for health or mana to regen would be awful alone. Other things would come up later like quests and such. Some way to make the content that is intended for large groups to be downsized for solo players, etc. There is potential but I don't think it was the intention to cater it towards players who want to play by their lonesome but instead is meant to give players alternate/free servers to play on. Although many of them still seem to need many of the items I mentioned above also. Big thumbs up from me though on what has been done thus far |
here is my eqhost.txt

Put stars where your username and password are in the db.ini. You don't want to give that away. |

ok i think if figured it out!
when i load mysql i get this error in my Err file tab on the mysql admin ________________________________________ http://www.innodb.com/ibman.html the InnoDB startup options listed in section 2 at But to get good performance you should adjust for your hardware innodb_data_file_path = ibdata1:10M:autoextend section, for example, or my.ini. If you want to use InnoDB tables, add to the [mysqld] to the [mysqld] section of init parameters in your my.cnf skip-innodb If you do not want to use transactional InnoDB tables, add a line Cannot initialize InnoDB as 'innodb_data_file_path' is not set. _____________________________________________ i cant make heads or tales out of it! :D any suggestions? |
come on people

thanks in advance ps i can connect to other peeps servers just not my own! 8) |
Do you have a firewall somewhere in your system, in the software or hardware? That is probably your problem, because that is why I cannot connect to my own server.
|
i do have a firewall. but all of the ports are open like the readme says and i can connect to other servers :P
