I just loaded Drawde's latest database on my machine, and it's great, so lets use this to our advantage...

I've set Halls of Paranor up with 20 zones, and would like to hear how playable the emulator is at low levels. Please log on and try low level combat, tradeskills, etc, and post any bugs you find there on this thread. Also, if you think the combat formulas need tweaking, let us know. As I have disabled item summoning, you will be fighting with starter equipment, so this gives you a chance to build a character up from scratch.

I apologize , but I have no low level quests currently in the new format.

Just this server or all servers?

Can someone say spammers? Be careful guys, shawn cracks down on people for just one little mistake (No offense shawn.) Anyways, I am about to go jump on the server right now, but normally when I try to log on it redirects me (Your server only.) :?

Yeah I am getting the same problem, ^^^^^^^^ I keep getting redirected to the Main Server Select screen...Usually this happens when the zone is not up, for me. What zones are amongst the 20 zones running?

They are all open zones. So they should boot any zone when you try to log in...

Try upping your datarate.txt to 10 or so. I have a pretty good cable connection, so shouldnt be that much problems. I see plenty of people playing on the server, so dont think it's outside connectivity, but theres no telling.

I was able to log onto your server and play a character but the only problem I faced was the monsters would aggro from far away and then nearly every mob of the same type would come at you. So as a Lv1 Iwas beset by 3 decaying skels everytime. This only occured in Paineel so far and that's all that I have found wrong with it. Anyways good job so far, keep it up.

One thing I've noticed is that some of the new starting items lists are missing. Someone reported that gnome warriors are blank at the moment... I' m going to work on filling those in..

Need to start with each race, and make a character of each class and verify which ones come up with no starting items. Anyone volunteer?

I jumped on and gave it a quick run. I found a couple things that you're probably already aware of, but I'll say them just to be sure.

Can't hand in my guild note at start(pretty sure thats quest related, so no real worry there), almost all the NPC's are facing the wrong directions(away from their desks and whatnot...not a big deal either), but the serious one is the fact that you get whomped by the newbie mobs. I started a wood elf ranger and couldnt' take the bats outside of town. Also, the bats outside of Felwithe aren't Sylvan Bats...they're just the little wussy bats. They hit for a relatively large amount...and they hit way too often.

Not a big deal in most cases other than the last one. I love the idea of a real legit server(no summoning.)

Flecko, those are all data related items though, nothing bug related. I'm not really looking for content related problems, more bugs in the code, thanks though. The guild notes, I know about, I mentioned that there are no quests in currently, and the rest are database related issues (wrong spawns, facing wrong directions, etc).

Thanks though but I'm looking for more things like 'cast a spell and it targetted on the wrong person' or 'I tried to epuip this and it caused the zone to crash, etc, etc.'

i can make it to the character selection screen just fine but when i try to get in it goes back to the server selection screen (all the servers i tried had this problem too)

II started a wood elf bard in kelethin w/ tunare as my diety, i had all my starting equip, but i handed in my newbie note and nothing happened. and as i was wlaking the NPC in(on?) kelethin were doing wierd things as i was walking around. when they came into view they dropped from the sky onto the ground, and some merchants jump around as i walk close to them. I died and appeared back in my guildhall, im pretty sure i should spawn on the ground near kelethin. I killed a giant wasp drone (pretty hard for a lvl 1 even con) and my faction standing with Wasps went down (never heard of that faction on the live servers :-p) Orc pawns have a pretty large aggro radius, larger than on the live servers. Im writing this commentary as i play :-p. If i die while fighting n the ground i respawn in my guildhall, but when i jump off kelethin i respawn on the ground. This sucks, i just started a job and i wont have much time for EQEMU...i got a job to pay for live EQ(as well as car insurance, but EQ more important :-p) but i dont need to pay for eqemu but my job will takeup alot of time...isnt it ironic? dont you think. bought my first song :-p, with the loot from only 1 giant wasp drone, and i had enough to buy my first song. i respawn w/ my song memmed, i dunno if thats upposed to happen or not. CHANT OF BATTLE SONG TAKES MANA! and the lil button for the lifts doesnt pop up and down when pressed (confused the hell outta me "WHY ISNT THE LIFT MOVING!") my faction standing with Bats has decreased after repeated kamikaze attacks against a sylvan bat. Decaying skeles whooop me at even con. faction standing against Wolves went down after i killed a black wolf, seems like everything is giving me a fcation hit. songs are a lil buggy, i cant place my finger on it but after playing a bard to lvl 55 on the live servers the songs arent acting the way they should be. Gem icons keep popping back up when songs are supposedly in effect. GOnna be a MAJOR problem in the higher lvls. When someone not in my group loots i can see their loot in /say channel "%T has looted <object> in /say channel. im finding myself having to do repeated kamikaze attacks to kill even cons just to get through lvl 1. Decaying skeles have a large aggro range, and when it try t ouuse Chords of Dissonance on a mob im meleeing it says my target is out of range. Chant of battle turns off after one cast, it doesnt keep recasting as songs should (thats what i couldnt place on finger on)Guard brookrock in gfay doesnt attack orc pawns when i drag them back to the lift. well im gonna play some more of this and submit this post, and just continue making mental notes of errors i find when playing. I hope i was of some help
