2 mindmg/maxdmg quirks

First quirk I've noticed, is that when you assign a mindmg and maxdmg to an NPC in npc_types, they forever hit for a single number of damage from then on. I was getting hit by the Avatar of War for 173 points of damage, and 173 only every time he hit me.

I then blanked out his min/max dmg variables in the database and reset the server. Now he's hitting for 500-800 or so. Random damage, not the same number over and over like before.

Second problem. Friend of mine and I were messing around on my server. We were compairing stats between his SK and my warrior etc. I noticed that while the Avatar of War was hitting me for 173, it was hitting my friends SK for 140something. I had 2100+ AC, he had 2000+AC. I shouldn't be getting hit for more. I took off my BP, dropping my AC to 1900something mid fight. Now the AoW was hitting me for 120 instead of 173, and I "dropped" AC.

I haven't tested what the effect of 2K+ AC has now that I wiped mindmg/maxdmg entries completely from my database. It could have been simply a problem with those columns and the formulas used with them. I'll do some more testing to see if lowering my AC lowers the 500-800 damage the AoW is doing now or not. I suspect it's a problem with the calculations in minmax dmg though, and that proper AC vs. NPClevel calculations are most likely working properly.

Our AC calculations were wrong so it was disabled, I re-enabled it recently but, its off and not totally innacurate. I would wait for the new version of the emulator.

The mindmg/maxdmg columns were disabled? Or AC all together?

AC all together

Okay, thanks a ton. Will be looking forward to the new release.
