I really really need help (the world.exe problem) Please
I have been trying for days to get this server to work.
I did everything possible (I think) Im up to the point where I run World.exe. I run it, it stays up for like one second, and dissapears. I have tried ALOT of things and it is making me VERY mad lol. So I got to the world.exe with the dos prompt and wrote down the whole message... Using database 'eq2' at localhost [Status] CURRENT_WORLD_VERSION:EQEmu 0.4.3 [Error] CURRENT_WORLD_VERSION:EQEmu 0.4.3 Loading Variables, zone names & items... LoadEMuShareMemDLL::Load() failed error=120 Error: Could not load item data And by the way, I know that there is another post of this... But it was not getting very far. Hopefully this one does, because there are alot of people with this problem. Ok update: I now got 4.4dr1 and have a new db and sourced it and everything SHOULD be working right... I run minilogin.exe then once i go to world.exe it just dissapears again ====(((((( Im using a Windows 98 SE. Im using 4.4dr1. Im trying to start my minilogin server. Heres my db.ini: # READ README.TXT! [Database] host=localhost user=Filled out with my username password=Filled out with my password database=Blahh compression=off ### --- This file tells world.exe what computer mySQL is on. Host should ### --- be left "localhost" unless mysql is on a differant computer than world.exe. ---Here is my loginserver.ini ### --- This file tells world.exe what loginserver to connect to. ### --- Leave the account and password field BLANK. ### --- Public Login is un-supported as is LAN playing. We reccomend using the EQEmu.net Loginserver ALWAYS. ### --- NOTE: Starting 6-1-2002, you can no longer use the word "Server" in worldname. ### --- NOTE2: the word "Server" is added to each server automaticly. # READ README.TXT [LoginServer] loginserver=localhost loginserver2=localhost loginport=5999 loginport2=5999 worldname=Blahh's World worldaddress=localhost locked=false account= password= [WorldServer] Defaultstatus= Unavailzone= [LoginConfig] ServerMode=Standalone ServerPort=5999 UplinkAddress= UplinkPort= UplinkAccount= UplinkPassword= Aight that's it... Hmm

            Thanks for your attention, Musubi |
<sigh>
Come on I know someone knows =p |
Ok the first thing I can think of is this
your world server says using database "eq2" your db.ini database line says database = blahh Is that what it really says ? I am guessing that it says eq2 let me know if you are still having a problem, I am at work and will be kinda watching this board for the next 8 hours. |
Yes you are correct on those - but the 'blahh' is the servername and its supposed to be there. I had to db eq2 because eq was totally messed up. I did way more than eq2 now... Did like 6 more db's, reformated, reinstalled everything. Still I have not got any farther. Thanks for trying to help though...
Thanks for your attention, Musubi |
Ok we need to make sure this is straight..In your database.ini file you have database = blahh
That needs to be the name of your database not your server name |
Lol, my server name is blahh also... its my chat handle lol
i think one of the problems 'could' but prolly not be my miniloginaccounts.ini is this: # Max 200 lines total (including comments and blank lines) # Blank lines may mess up the line # reported in error messages 192.168.0.2 User1 User1Pass 192.168.0.3 User2 User2Pass But i was told in alot of readme's something different, tried those, made new db's, etc etc Still no solution... Thanks for your attention, Musubi |
I am trying to make sure you understand the whole database.ini thing I am telling you, you said your database was eq2 right ?
you need to make sure that the line that says database is eq2 also. |
[Database]
host=localhost user=Filled out with my username password=Filled out with my password database=eq2 compression=off Thats how it should look.... |
I had this same problem, so I downloaded version 0.4.2 (Think thats the one), filled in the things needed and it worked ... only now I have a new problem, it says bad password and disconnects when I click world.exe. :(
|
Hmm
Well I tried everything that everyone suggested, but I still cannot get passed world.exe... I am getting a new error message now, a very long one... My mysql.exe basically when everything tries to load gives errors and disconnects, then trys to connect again but cant...
About haywards and hardy's reply... Yes my db says that, I have just been making new db's so much that I just gave up on updating the original post... [img]C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\error msg[/img] Hopefully that image worked, it is a screenshot of my new message. Thanks for your attention, Musubi |
Aight this is the error message - i see the other one didnt work lol
