Incorrect Version Error Fixes
These are not guarenteed fixes, but lots of people are having a hard time so I decided I needed to post a standard run down of the 2 biggest problems.
.: THIS IS ONLY VALID IF YOU'RE TRYING TO CONNECT TO GOTFRAGS! :. 1. Incorrect Version Error in world.exe connecting to gotfrags. Make sure your loginport is set to 5997. !!Also make sure you have the latest version of the code!! Here is an example of how it should look. Code:

Im getting an odd error. When I do minilogin, all is good...but when i connect via. gotfrags, I can see my server just fine, but when I try to connect it tells me I need to re-run patch and something about current version...any ideas (EQ error 1017 Cannont login to the everquest server)

Same error here.
I can't figure this one out either. I have no problem connecting and playing with Minilogin, but everytime I use gotfrags, I get error 1017: Cannot connnect. It may have something to do with a firewall and UBD ports, but I'm still investigating.

Me too :(
Aye, I am also having a problem with that.. However, I can't even log onto the stupid minilog..
*sigh* I hope I can get it to work someday... |
If you use minilogin you would do port 5999. These fixes are for got frags only =).

Minilogin and 1017
This is somewhat related to the topic, and I apologize if this issue has been addressed already.
I can login to the game just fine with the minilogin program if my server and client are on the same machine (using port 5999 of course). However, when I try to login remotely onto a server on another computer on my LAN using minilogin, I get the 1017 error. My configuration for the server is the same as what was specified for the minilogin section of the readme file when I tried the remote access method. I guess I want to know if the minilogin program only allows "server/client on the same machine" configuration, or should I have changed some of the configuration from what was indicated by the readme file for the minilogin part. Thanks in advance for any help. |
