Ok, had to use Image's GRANT command on this topic for my "access denied error" to go away, I got the command to work by using

c:\mysql\bin\mysql.exe --user=root eq

And that worked for me....but....when I run minilogin and then world.exe, I get passed the access denied error and it goes straigh to this:

[Error] CURRENT_WORLD_VERSION:EQEMu 0.4.4-DR1

LoadEMuShareMemDLL::Load() failed error=120
Error: Could not load item data


Any help would be greatly appreciated.
