#spawns disappearing

Hey you all,

yes yes I know, another #spawn thread. But please hear me first. :)

I read the #spawn thread at http://forums.eqemu.net/viewtopic.php?t=8225, which is really nicely written.

So I went into South Qeynos, and used the #spawn command to add a new NPC. Hurray, it all worked just like I wanted to. So the next thing I do, is #npcspawn create, just like it says in the thread mentioned above, and it even gives me the message that the spawn was created successfully. So, next thing I do is #npcspawn add, again just like it was mentioned, and it even gives me the message that the spawn was added successfully.

So I go ahead and zone out into North Qeynos, zone back into South Qeynos, but I have to realize that my newly added NPC isn't there anymore. So I'm thinking ... maybe I have to #repop the zone first.
So I go ahead and do the whole procedure as mentioned above all over again. No biggie. I #repop the zone, zone out, zone back in ... same problem. My new NPC won't show up. :(

I know I#m prolly just missing some step, or maybe I'm just completely retarded. But I did it all just like it said in the little tutorial thread.

Could someone maybe point me in the right direction please?

To make a permanent spawn you need to use the command #npcspawn add.

#spawn only generates a dynamic spawn that disappeares after being killed or zone shutdown

After using #npcspawn create and then #npcspawn add, the server must be restarted for it to permanently stay there. After you've created your spawns in a particular zone, log off, reboot servers and log back in. They will all be there.

Hmm yeah,

sorry about that. :( Totally didn't think about rebooting the database as well.

Thank you for the help. Much appreciated. :)
