Bogus Item in summoned containers; Invalid Items on Merchant
First off:
Using 1.1final of Drawde's DB, 4.4DR1 of EQemu running WindowsME. World.exe and zone.exe run fine (well, there are a few Unknown Opcodes but I'm generally ignoring those) until I summon a backpack(17005) and place it in my inventory. I then get 11 "Bogus Item found, deleting..." etc messages in my EQ client. When a player uses a merchant, I see lots of Invalid Item errors on my zone servers. So far I don't think it matters which merchant, could be any. Also, when I perform a trade with another player it's very easy to dupe items - seems like 50% of the time when I put an item in my trade window, it will somehow stay on my cursor and the next time I click in my inventory, to pick up the next item for instance, I'll put that item I just gave to a player in place of the item I'm picking up. Please let me know if there is any more info you need, or any clarifications needed. I've been up for more than 24 hours trying to track down these bugs with little success. The closest I can find to these bugs on the forums had to do with custom created items being found as "bogus" items and being deleted, though I'm not sure why a summoned backpack would do this. I should also note that it seems to be all containers - Bag of the Tinkerers, etc also do the bogus item thing. |
Fixed the error. Here's what I did:
I obtained the latest'n'greatest from the CVS (Note: You have to download the module from the CVS, and then compile it. This isn't for the faint of heart). After successfully compiling it and installing it, it worked. Item duplication, Invalid Item, Bogus Item Detected, all fixed. Thanks to Bigpull on the IRC #eqemu room for the help! |

CVS=Concurrent Versions System and is the a tool used to manage the EQEMU source via Source Forge. The latest "source code" is always available via the CVS.
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/v...tDumps/Source/ Compiling this code is not for the faint of heart. :) bill |
