Feature Request: Profanity Filter
Is it possible to have code put similar to EQLive that filters out profanity? The code could reference a text file or work straight off a variable in the database or come from the client.
I could be wrong, but I thought that was client side (and thus already there), and referanced a text file in your EQ dir.
Try /filter in game, it should be working
That thar be clientside!
Why the fuck do you need some goddamn profanity filter anyway?
What a piece of shit waste of our time! :) |
Lets go farther, what about a translator which could translate words like dr00d by druid, l33t by loot...? translations being in the database of course :)
I believe l33t is actually 'leet' as in 'elite'
:D |
ah huh, u see, i m so used to these 'words' that i dont even try to understand if they really mean something... l33t as elite confirms my opinion hehe
The one I never could figure out is w00t :?
I do that noise sometimes when i eat to many beans... :?
W00t = woot = root
Root access is godmode in linux and unix systems, and may also be a term used in Windows. Having root is like having ecstacy. W00t = ecstacy over having complete control of something |
ah... I never made the w00t/root connection.... that makes sense (I guess) :)
Woot just sounds smoother. When I played eqemu, my guild use a butchered and bastardised version of the word. They used the term "woto".
I like the sound of woto. |
glad of that skilled language hlep, hehe... my guild was using hlep instead of help cause one of our charismatic chantys has been caught running naked in WW with a dog behind him and shouting 'HLEP ME !' :D

leet?
