Patcher

I am not going to bring the patcher back up. Also, in retrospec (is that a real word?), I should not have brought it up in the first place. Because of this, I do not care if anybody has eqfix, or a new patcher,

BUT WE WILL NOT ALLOW THE POSTS ON THIS FORUM OR ON THE IRC SERVER.

We are close to having an EQLive version of the server running, so you will just need to wait out, or help us test.

You can call me a hipocrit or whatever you want, but that is how it will be. We should not have done it, we know that now, and that is how it is going to be.

Rules are still in place.. dont ask for, ask about, give away, link, or even hint towards the EQ patch files..

Ok now thats thats all cleared up, Here's my 2 cents.

From what I seen from reading the boards and hanging out in IRC is that they are working on updateing there Emulator to use the up to date EQlive files.

Okay...Sorry I'm a little confused...if he's saying he wont bring the patcher back up...does that mean those who need to "De-patch" EQEMU from EQ live cant play anymore? :(

Thanks in advance :P

post on a main page says to make or back folder or just dont patch off of the EQlive server so you dont get people posting whining about that they didnt know what do to lol

Barench 07-09-2003 03:03 PM

I dont know about anyone else, but I get a kick out of the equipment that people are useing for their servers (Memenerr has a link to his just above this post).

As a suggestion I would enjoy seeing a "server link" section added to the board which will do three things:

1. Show the equipment which is required to run a server (which could encourage others to create new servers)

2. Give a simple way to go to the server web page so players could see the rules and envirnments used on the various servers, as well as which everquest modules are reqired for a partitular server (standard, kunnark, scars of v, pop)

3. Give your members a better grasp of what work is really required to make such a bold project as this work.

As a qualifier to be on the list, I would suggest that the server would need to either be a green server or a beta server which has direct sanction by eqemu.

Just a though.

rofl, funny thing is.. as much as you post this, idiots will keep showing up asking for it.

Boogahed 07-10-2003 03:22 AM

If someone had the time to work on it, implementing a patch program that incorporates a bit torrent style system would solve the bandwidth problems.
