To help you fix your problem going to need alittle more info, like your loginserver.ini, boot5zone.bat and whether or not your behind a firewall/nat router.

Krimzin 07-13-2003 07:32 PM

Loginserver.ini -

[LoginServer]
loginserver=eqlogin1.eqemu.net
loginserver2=eqlogin2.eqemu.net
loginport=5999
loginport2=5999
worldname=Just Another
worldaddress=24.*.*.*
locked=false
account=
password=

[WorldServer]
Defaultstatus=
Unavailzone=

[LoginConfig]
ServerMode=Standalone
ServerPort=5999
UplinkAddress=
UplinkPort=
UplinkAccount=
UplinkPassword=

----------------

boot5zone.bat -

REM:--------------Start-----------------------
@echo off

if NOT exist spells_en.txt goto NOSPELL

start zone . 192.168.0.110 7995 192.168.0.110

Yes I'm behind a NAT with built-in firewall, I dmz'd this comp though to bypass the firewall. I'm able to receive outside connections. Like I said in a previous post, others are able to connect to my server.

Even using minilogin the same thing happens.

Krimzin 07-13-2003 08:08 PM

Ok got it working so I can login ;P for some reason it wouldn't let me login unless I did the insert into account name crap and used eqemu/eqemu as username password instead of one of my choice

Dont use router IP's if you want other people to connect (ie. a "live" server).

Krimzin 07-14-2003 08:02 AM

i tried using my external ip for the zones once, and none of them were able to connect to world.exe
should it be:
start zone . externalip 7995 externalip

or:
start zone . externalip 7995 192.168.0.110

or:
start zone . 192.168.0.110 7995 external ip
?

also, it seems when i have world.exe connect to eqemu, others can login and make an account (not sure about actually zoning in), but i'm not able to connect to my server unless i change it to use minilogin...is this because of my router? or because i use the same computer as client and server? or both ;P

I'm running on WinXP home.

Shawn319 07-14-2003 09:35 AM

Well the thing is, your "external ip" is now the IP of the router, not your computer. that external IP is the IP for every computer on the network and it confuses some things.

try connecting directly to the internet and trying again.

Bigpull 07-14-2003 10:06 AM

zone . externalHOSTNAME port 127.0.0.1

using a hostname, and the hostname overide for local clients is the key

EDIT: don't forget to use the externalHOSTNAME as your worldaddress= in the ini also

Krimzin 07-14-2003 11:18 AM

external ip i used before was my cable modem ip address, 192.168.0.110 is the ip assigned to me be the dhcp server on my router, which has an ip of 192.168.0.1....i would never have used a router, but my dad wants the builtin firewall crap for his comp...so im forced to use it :(

i edited the host file for windows a while ago and set a hostname for 192.168.0.110, ill try setting it to my cable ip though

i dont seem to have any problems with others connecting to me though, i had one person connect while i was messing around with it, no idea if they made it to a zone though...they disconnected

also, i read something about a publiclogin.exe...where is this file, or did minilogin.exe takeover the functions of publiclogin?
