On Scope (and no, not the mouthwash)
It seems to me that a lot of the debate(s) going on in these forums could benefit from a poll, so here goes:
Scope refers to the size/number of players/number of zones you plan to someday support. For this question, ignore any limitations (emu code, hardware, bandwidth, etc.) Which camp are you in: A.) Macro - My server will be a VI production server. Thousands of accounts accomodating every available item and zone. B.) Micro - My server is for my friends. It will be offered to people I know and will be tailored to deliver specific content at specific locations. C.) Somewhere in between. |
I'm a B by the way.

C).
I intend on having somewhere between 40 to 60 people for a total population on my server. |
Uhh. True? Wait. What were the choices? Oh. Uhh. C. ;)

B.

My friends were going to run a remake of EverQuest out of college, but it would be a in-college server only and my guess is about 100-200 people would play out of the school (maybe even more, its a computer school...)

I'll likely just run a server for between 5 to 10 people. The primary two are myself and my brother, we were large EQ addicts. The rest would just be friends I introduce it to.
