I searched the forum for 1017 project,and
I tried everthing to solve the 1017 ,

many many times

the last ,I can't conquer it
So, i think maybe it is the problem with EQEmu

I hope the EQEmu0.5 can solve the problem

Its not a problem with eqemu, and theres atleast 20 posts with the 1017 fix. You should really actually try searching, instead of saying you have.

Darkyth - Good for you if you had good luck straight away, or found the answers straight up. But stop the flaming already will ya...

The posts are really getting long, scattered, and dated.

Read the guides and you'll see that they talk about different methods, many using non-exsistant or obsolete software.

*added* Nor do the guides always explain WTF you doing in the first place and why :P

The search engine for this board is next to usless, not quite useless, but bordering...

And quite frankly, while I appreciate posters trying to explain stuff, they leave out ALOT of detail and leave you guessing, or assuming, which is bad when your trying to figure somethings out for the first time.

And yes, I'm am qualified to make that judgement, as I do quite a bit of technical manual writing...

I thought it was perfectly clear in saying "Your currently SOL and why your currenlty SOL. I do like the WHY section, for us idiots who don't know :D

Let me take this recent news post -

Servers connect to the servers like they always have (for now).
The Login server has been updated to work with the newest version of the client. Be sure to test the chat server also. Because of version issues, you cannot use both clients on the same login server, so if you patched to live and wish to play/help on one of the 0.5.0DR1 servers, you must change your login server to the following:

eqlogin1.eqemu.net:5997

note that the address did not change but the port did"

3 questions later, it was finally clear exaclty what file should be edited and to what.

IE

[Registration Servers]

}
