Change your server name. Don't make it too long or too short, don't use any weird characters, and don't use the word "server".

X3no 07-23-2003 06:11 PM

yeah i understand, changed a few names also.

here's a sample of my loginserver.ini in my C:\eqemu directory

(Also i noticed when i unzip them they go into different folders, Bindary , 3rd Party Programs, they shouldnt be a problem?)

[LoginServer]
loginserver=eqlogin1.eqemu.net
loginserver2=eqlogin2.eqemu.net
loginport=5999
loginport2=5999
worldname=shauns <-- tried test , testing , whatever , hello
worldaddress=202.xxx.x.xxx <--- my IP
locked=false
account=
password=

[WorldServer]
Defaultstatus=
Unavailzone=

[LoginConfig]
ServerMode=Standalone
ServerPort=5999
UplinkAddress=
UplinkPort=
UplinkAccount=
UplinkPassword=

Thanks folks.

Server names must be atleast 10 characters long

X3no 07-28-2003 03:43 AM

Thanks it works now.

BUT i just noticed it's 0.4.0 so i cant login myself anyway lol.

Guess i'll wait for the newer server version to be released.

I seem to get no connectivity whatsoever from the 5999 ports for the EQEmu login. (Neither Login1 nor Login2)
I can create a server on Login1 using the 5997 port and see it at the login screen, but it keeps timing out periodically.
(Just about the time I finish loading data to enter the world...)

I'm using 4.4 and the most current EQLive update on WinXP.

The only server listed besides mine is the Forever Hacking server.
Once in a while I see another 4.4 DR1 server popup but it doesn't stay long.

Here's my connection files:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
EQHOST.TXT contents:

[Registration Servers]

{
"eqlogin1.eqemu.net:5997"

}

[Login Servers]

{

"eqlogin1.eqemu.net:5997"

}

LoginServer.ini contents:

[LoginServer]
loginserver=eqlogin1.eqemu.net
loginport=5997
worldname=Sparky's Big Adventure
worldaddress=localhost
locked=false
account=
password=

[WorldServer]
Defaultstatus=
Unavailzone=

[LoginConfig]
ServerMode=Standalone
ServerPort=5997
UplinkAddress=
UplinkPort=
UplinkAccount=
UplinkPassword=
---------------------------------------------------------------------

It sure seems like something's up with the EQEmu login...
Isn't there ANY way to put up and log into a server without using the EQEmu registration/login servers?

IATheorv 07-29-2003 06:05 AM

OOPS!
I found the answer to my own question about bypassing the public login.
Won't work until EQEmu gets updated though... it seems.

Oh well, I'm patient.
