This might have been suggested before...

If I install the entire game and expansions all over again to different directories (ie the entire game never patched) can I get into the emu?

disregard this seeing as theres no servers

1) You cant. you need the files are of DEC or so

2) dont think anymore 4.4 servers are around , unless u know of someone hosting one. Most of them are 5 which are in Beta test still!

actualy most of them are not 0.5.0, cause 0.5.0 is still in beta and you cant get it unless you compile the scripts yourself,im making a 0.4.4 server right now just for the heck of it until i can make a 0.5.0 server if you want to you can play there but i cant promise much...

I host a 4.4 server. It has been up and running since the begining of July. Its up 24/7 and usually someone always on it.

It has been my experience that if you have patched after 7/11(?) then the only servers you will see when you log in is the 5.0 servers.

They are having you log in on port 5997 that is where the 5.0 servers are. The old port is 5999 That is where the 4.4 servers are. If you change a patched eq to 5999 it will give you a 1002 Incorrect version error.

To play on the 4.4 servers you would have to aquire certain files before 7/11 and certain files before 1/03.

Just to avoid confusion, yes he listed those backwards 5999 is the 0.4.4 login 5997 is DR
