5.0 source
Could someone walk me through compiling the 5.0 binaries with dev-c++? I'd really apprecieate it if someone could help with this, or just do it for me =) Thanks

same here. I got the files, I know some C++ but I didn't manage to compile them. Could someone explain a way to do this please or maybe compile the 2 files and post a link a something ?
Thx |
There's a tutorial in the howto section. If you can't follow this, it's best to not run your own server at this time - just connect to someone else's.
We are not distributing binaries for 0.5.0 at this time because it's a developer release only, and we're not ready to support it. |
I just saw your HOWTO after I posted. Sorry :)
Anyway could you explain me few things ? 1/ CVS What is this ? From what I understand this might be some kind of application which allow you to download files from a server host by sourceforge in DOS command ? Since the source were posted on the old website, do I still need them from CVS ? 2/ Zlib Thoses files are libraries which allow you to compile the zone and world.exe files ? Also, it seems that you add a directory from Mysql in the project before compiling. Does it mean that the program need some MYSQL libraries as well ? Does it also work with the last MYSQL (v4) since you were doing it with version 3 ? 3/ VS Net Last question. I don't have VS Net but i could download a free compiler like Delphi C++ or another. Would it work if I add the path to the librarie like you explain in the HOWTO ? I'm going to try anyway but if you have the possibility to answer quickly it might save me some time :) Anyway, as I'm not often posting, I would like to take the opportunity to thank you guys, the dev team, the guys who host servers, who donate and all because you're making this possible and this is great. Good luck with the future ! |
I forgot to ask about EqShareMem or something like that. What is this ? I didn't see this in the 0.4.4 release. Is it necessary ?

Ok i found the How-To, and now all I need is VS .NET, can anyone tell me where I can get this, and for how much? Or, could you please post a how-to on compiling the source with Dev-C++? Thanks again.

Visual Studio .NET 2003 is around $1079, or you can get it cheaper if you are upgrading from an older version

I think you're going to be on your own with dev-c++, I dont know that anyone else is using it, so it's doubtful anyone knows. Its always possible but I wouldnt hold my breath.
As I stated before, only VS.net and gcc compiles are supported. |
would VS 6 be enough ? I know someone who has it who could compile it for me.
thx |
vis studio 6 pro works for me, i posted an earlier msg with a few problem that came up with the 050dr release somewhere in the forum. thats with fresh install. im doing the service pack3 in a few mins
