Kicked to desktop...
sorry for asking this question AGAIN. I know this question has been asked repeatedly (because i've used the search tool and i saw the lists of posts). none of the posts have really given me a straight answer. Please don't flame me. This is the support forum, which means it's a place for help, and no put downs.
anyways, back to my problem. I am using eqemu v 0.4.4 and after clicking the button "play everquest" on the server select screen, the game starts to load. Then, i get booted to the desktop, with no error message. I've noticed that each time i'm booted, the blue bar stopped at "loading player character models". Could the root of this horrid problem be linked to that? I have shadows of luclin installed, and i think the ruins of kunark aswell. (i'm not sure about RoK, i think it downloads by its self when patching, but i could be wrong). Oh yeah, and I'm using EQW v 2.32b. Thank you in advance for helping me out. One thing about 4.4 is that you need an old version of eqgame.exe to play it. If you already have that file, then try running EMu without EQW. Sometimes EQW creates problems with EQ. So, go into msdos (cmd in run), go to your everquest directory, and type 'eqgame.exe patchme' If it still dosent work, I have heard that Krushers has a fix to the 4.4 problem (Saw this on the IRC server in the topic, so I am assuming it is okay to post it) If you get the old version of eqgame.exe and it still dosent work, try using version 4.3 of EQEMu. In my experence, I have had many errors with world.exe of version 4.4, mostly bugs (on WinXP, on Linux it runs fine) And if it still dosent work, then just play on the servers that other people make.

thanx a lot for the reply! i do have the correct version of eqgame.exe and i tried running eq without eqw and it still crashed. I'll try going on mirc, eventhough that channel scares me slightly... they aren't all that nice to noobs

Speaking of Krusher's fix. I downloaded it and since then i get an eqgame.exe error after clicking play now instead of 1017. Any way to fix that one?

I have this same problem. I have version 0.4.4 correctly installed (from Krusher) and I click enter world on any 4.4 servers and i just go to desk top, can anyone PLEASE post a fix for this?

First, Krusher's fix didn't actually work, I tested it in my eqlive directory.
Second, Krushers fix is NOT supported by the devs anyways, and asking for it can still get you banned. :-) |
