1002 Error, Read other posts, nothing seems to work
 

The error message reads:

Error 1102: Incorrect version!!
Run the patch program to ensure you
have the current version.

I'm scared to patch because I hear you can't play anymore if you patch :-P. Maybe my process of logging in is wrong.

First of all I installed everquest. I didn't patch, and I downloaded eqhost.txt. I saved it over my OLD eqhost.txt, and then I opened a dos prompt, went into my everquest directory, and typed
"eqgame.exe patchme". This loads everquest, but when I try to login to my account (Kuval), I get the 1002 error that is shown above.

If anyone could help me it would be much appreciated, and I have read another post with a topic similar to this one, but it didn't help me. I also dont have a datarate.txt file. I haven't patched at all. My friend says that if I can find someone to send me the files thatll work, however he lives in australia on dialup... Im in canada with cable. Itd take us 3 weeks. If anyone else wants to send files I'll be glad to recieve :). Thanks

You can't use the CD client =( your going to have to wait untill .5.0 comes out..
