New server on 4.4!
 

My new server is called Jake's Florida Server on eqemu 4.4 what should it be though? Legit, Semi-legit, or Non-legit?

Making a 4.4 server right now is pointless, not very many people can play on 4.4 anymore and by the time you get the world built and coustomized 5.0 will be up and running and you will need to start over on 5.0.

But if you just have to have your own server the easiest is nonLegit since you wont need to build the world and customize it as much.

Ya but 5.0 dr3's arnt out yet even. and I had to pass a router and 3 months of hard testing and fixing to get it up im just rdy to know what I should call it Jake's Florida ( ) Server.

btw with eqfix you can go back to 4.4's I cant rly tell you where to find it.... just send me an e-mail or something if your curious.

jakes florida server....why does that sound like something else ive heard of?

come on guys un-bann ck-killa I talked to him and he says he didnt mean he was going to give it away he was just going to tell them that it isnt usable again. He told me he didnt mean to distribute the program.

he also said if you arnt going to unbann him at least take away the "disturbing" avatar and the fagland thing.... he says thank you in advance.

I don't want ck-killa here. He was warned plenty of times.

He was banned 4 or 5 times for doing this stuff, came with that same excuse Kyle9 is giving. He had a lot more chances than most people get. Enough is enough he dont need to come back.

Yeah, havent I seen this guy somewhere else? It or is it just that all the idiots post like this? Why is it that every time someone distrobutes Warez that:

1.) They get warned
2.) They are idiots and keep doing it
3.) They get banned
4.) Their friend logs on, tries to get them unbanned and
5.) The friend uasually ends up banned too.


... I have a theroy that its the same two people with dynamic IP Addresses that keep doing this every few days.

I was talking in IRC and /dev/n00b came up with the idea of making people take an IQ test before logging onto IRC. Well, we need an IQ test for our forums just as badly. And not just before they access the forums, but they should be required to submit a test every time they even think about posting.

And what IQ would you suggest as the minimum acceptable?

Forget an IQ test, do a common sence test. even the smart people are idiots somtimes and some people on EMU are down right Doopid but follow the rules. Test for common sence and get those without booted.



Only issue i see is, If common sence was so common everyone would have it. :twisted:

You know an IQ test would be better. THe guy obviously wasnt very smart. If he knew anything about the banning process he could just change his IP. He did mention getting a router which means he had DHCP. IT also means that his computer was hooked up through a router. He can twink the settings of the router IP to change from the standard 192.168.1.1xx to something like 193.168.1.1xx in about five seconds. I have about fifty IP adress changed a day for security reasons and have each of my computers programed on the same formula as to make sure they are still set up for RAI. So not nesicarily a standard IQ test, but more along the lines of a Computer Knowledge Test.
