I am attempting to set up my own server.

I was wondering do i still have to pay and have an active account with SOE to utilize my own server?

So this Emu is exactly like the Uo emus set it up log it on connect and you off...........right. As long as its set up correctly and you have the cds.

Barlok, I suggest you read up about EQEMu before attempting to run your own server. I recommend you play on other servers before attempting to start your own server too.

Darkyth thanks, I plan too. I want to get to know the community aswell. I (at creation) of my server, will bring about 20 members with me. I appriate your reccomendation D.

This is 3-4 months down the line.


Do you have any sujestions as to which server is best suited for hardcore PvPers? Also I am looking for a SerAdmin that is creating new loots tables and spawns.

guildwars will be guild vs guild pvp when it goes live, so that's definitely the best suited server for your play style if you enjoy pvp.

I have looked on the Guide to play, It says to click here to get a few things but they aren't active. What is the prceedure to obtianing the right files to log into any server?

Basic answer: If you have the files to play on 5.0, you must either have a backup version already on your computer to play on 4.4, or you cannot play on older versions of the emu. There's no way to get the files as they are considered warez.
