it's official.. im a retard... so if you wanna help...

Okay, first off... if this isn't the right place ofr this, I'm sorry.. but General support sais it's for problems connecting to the server and the win32 and linux forums are about running a server itself.

Anyways, I started playing EQlive again, but I still wanna play EQemu... so, naturally that presents a problem with patching.

Well the problem (and where I show how computer dense I am) is I can't seem to make a copy of my EQ folder to run EQ emu seperatly.

some things to note:

-Yes, I tried clicking "copy"... only it doesn't do anything.. at all... nothing pops up, no little boxes... no few files... nothing

-I'm on Windows 98 (behind the times, I know)

-I know it's something simple that I just don't know how to do (self taught myself how to use the computer... and I'm not a good teacher)

Click on your Everquest folder while EQ is not running.

Hit and hold the Ctrl key. Click C while holding that key. This copies the folder.

Release buttons.

Hit and hold the Ctrl key. Click V while holding that key. This PASTES the folder. This is the step you didn't do when you copied last time.

Release buttons.

Rename folder from "Copy of Everquest" to "Eqemu".

This can also be done by RIGHT clicking the Everquest folder, selecting copy, and then right clicking in the white space somewhere near the Everquest folder and clicking paste.

No programs or files can be in use while you are copying them. Close any notepad files you were looking at prior to copying.

Don't feel stupid that you needed help. :) Everyone needs help the first time they do something.
